County Court at Law No. 1 has jurisdiction over Probate and Guardianship proceedings, pursuant to Texas Government Code 25.222 and Texas Estates Code Sec. 32.002. In addition, County Court at Law No. 1 has jurisdiction over the following types of cases:

• Small Estate Affidavits
• Letters Testamentary
• Independent Administration/Dependent Administration
• Heirship proceedings
• Management Trusts
• Sale of Real and/or Personal Property
• Temporary and/or Permanent Guardianships for incapacitated persons and minors

COURT'S POLICY REGARDING ATTORNEY FEES

Texas Supreme Court Order goes into effect July 1, 2020, requiring that service by publication be published in the newly established website maintained by the Office of Court Administration, in addition to the current requirement of publishing in a newspaper of general circulation in the county in which the proceeding is pending.
