- The program was strategically placed in a high school which allows access to a myriad of Career & Technical Education experiences as well as high school courses and AP/Honor mentors.
- This program will utilize the NC STEM Education Strategy: "STEM education provides the opportunity to teach student what to do when they do not know what to do, how to process and take action in a new and uncomfortable situations, and how to understand, interact, and lead the jobs, communities, and world in which they live.
- All state standards will be taught for Math, ELA, Social Studies and Science
- Students will have an opportunity to earn high school credits
- Students will begin 6th grade with Compacted Math
- The EHSSP curriculum places each student on track for rigorous math, science, and CTE courses in high school allowing room for college credit courses once they get to high school
In addition to being taught the Common Core State Standards of Mathematics and English/Language Arts and the NC Essential Standards of Science and Social Studies, EHSSP students will participate in several supplemental curricular components. These include:
